Maby they should put an extra build option like choose your hairstyle but instead choose facial hair (dunno what female equivelant will be ..jewelry maby.

The faces do move in this game, just not in videos.

Actually the way the models scale now for height would be different than the way they would change for weight/width. If you notice when you scale your character vertically...he gets wider/bigger everywhere and keeps all of his proportions exactly as they were...The other slider would have to change those proportions.

Seems like this had been lost. I've been offline for awhile.. obviously there isn't time to put this in the next chapter but maybe they will still consider it for later.

The Character Customization options available in the upcoming PS2 jp MMORPG "Phantasy Star Universe" is a great example... If this type of customization would be implemented in GW: Factions, it would be incredible ---->http://sega.jp/asx/pr/psu_pr4_bb.asx

I used to think this was a great idea, back when the game came out, now I have reasons to disagree.
First of all if they make several body shapes/types for each gender and class, they will have to program new visuals for every set of armor to fit that new body type, this isn't just a frame change, it will have to be accompanied by a dozen armor visuals to fit that new frame. Would be nice, but it is a tax on resources.
The reason I used to like the idea, but don't any more, is because additional classes (including body structure and looks) will be regularly introduced in expansions, each class should have a different overall physic, and look. As we get more classes we will get more body builds, and although you may want to play as a certain class but look a different way, it is more important for each class to look unique. I am in favor of new classes which have new builds/distinctions, which in the end will provide a large number of body builds and looks for players to enjoy. Even though your particular class might not look the way you want, there will be plenty of good looking classes eventually.
The other reason is, I would rather they made alternate "Race" types available rather then different body types. Under the assumption that a race like tengu or char work with the same stats and skills that humans do, if they are going to make alternate body types, they might as well have body types of other races. If they are going to program an entire line of armors to fit a new body type, and make a new look, why make a slightly alternate version of a human which realy woln't make an impact, wile still costing a great deal of design and programing to make armors custom fit for it. If they are going to make a new body type, as well as all the armors to fit on it, better to be vastly alternate then a slight modification.
Having a Human or Tengu option is better than a Medium Human or Bulky Human option.

Well..I had an idea similar to this awhile back. Anyways, my idea was to have 3 different body types. The examples I gave were for warrior, but I will give a few more.
Ok, for warriors the 3 levels would be... 1) The current "tank" look. 2) The skinny, Ascalon Warrior look (or Lionguard/Shining Blade as well). and 3) The Little Thom/Stefan pot belly look. This would prevent having ridiculously fat characters running around ruining the game feel, as well as make re dueing armors a bit easier.
In counter to the post above me saying that each class should have its own unique look, I some-what agree. For instance, I dont think there should be rangers looking as buff as a warrior. I'll give examples for other classes that still keep their unique look to them, but with some levels.
For Ranger, have an Ascalon Ranger skinny look, and a Ranger that doesnt have a 6-pack or anything, but is still pretty thin (pot belly I suppose you oculd call it), and have the current ranger build as the "fit" look. This keeps the unique ranger look but with some degrees.
For Assassin, you could have the same as the ranger, only have an assassin with more arm muscles (not shoulder width increase or anything, because that would take away their unique assassin look of being sneaky).
For all the other classes you could do the same almost, with slight variations. They would all still look like their typical look, for instance there wont be any necros running around looking as buff as a warrior, but it still adds uniqueness, and with uniqueness comes more fun playing with your character, and mroe attachment to it.

Thats amazing. I can only dream of an MMO with that kind of customization.

Although it would be fun to have, character customization like this is not needed. It would take away too much of Anet's time to recreate all of the armor models for various sizes. Unlike height, this wouldn't be a matter of just "blowing up" or "shrinking" the models. Right now, their time needs to be spent in fine-tuning factions and creating chapter three, due in six months.

Character customization is just as nessicary as having different types of armor, or guild storage, or adding merchants to Guild Halls. Im sure they will do a very good job fine tuning Factions, as well as adding these un-nessicary features.

If we start thinking like that then we don't really need anything. We don't need to classes, we don't need new types of armor infact we don't need the game. Everything added to this game is for entertainment. Some people enjoy creating their character just as much as another person may love farming.

Not signed, I'm sorry. I'm afraid this would become another exercise of ingame descrimination, it's bad enough as it is and it certainly doesn't encourage diversity. The majority of the population will go with super-thin, big chested, rounded hiped, female characters (no matter the class). IMHO this is just asking for MORE clones rather than less.
On a side note - there are times that customisation can become ridiculous. I like being able to create a decent looking character in less than an hour (guild wars), it took me nearly 3 hours to make my character in Oblivion.

Uhhh...I dont know if I understand you right, but if I do, how can there be more clones when there is only 1 body type to begin with??
Sure the thin females will be most popular, but there will still be a decent amount of more muscular ones Im sure. Maybe not fat ones, but still, better then it is now.
And for males...some people like skinnier warriors, I myself like muscular ones. It wont make more clones..

If just one person goes a different look than that, that is better than what we have now....It isnt possible to have more clones.

It would be nice to make a necro that doesn't look like he's about to form a hump. As for size, personally I always make my characters larger. When I buy armor I want to be able to see it.

To Tell you the truth, I don't think so. Bigger breasts? yeah, probably.. but the #1 complaint i'm heard is TOO SKINNY. I know I'd make my Female Warrior look stronger. She looks like a model right now.. how she gonna swing a hammer around?
I noticed you didn't say anything about the Males, hmmm.
As for speed, you can do with default if it's not important. Personally, I found GW too quick in the customization process.
